Wow thats the first time that I read about it. That actually happened to me a few times already too but I never really cared about it when I was fully awake again.
Generally that is what happened always:
Quote:A person may wake up and find himself unable to move or speak as if he is frozen.
It's not that I was hearing or seeing anything, I think my eyes were closed most of times but I knew/felt that I was awake. I just couldn't move and talk and it's really weird.

I've had nightmares where you can't run away from something and you cant scream for help, not sure if thats what you meant but its a very different thing, because your still asleep, What happened to me (and Beethi too from what I read) is your awake and its happening

After some youtubing, seems one guy replicated the sound he heard after a dream, its almost identical to what I was hearing I swear to god, I think by now I can be trusted as a reliable source

Hmm...I've woken up before unable to move much, and sometimes less able to move than other times during that morning (it was morning when I woke up). It was about a year ago, and it was after I had a bit to drink.

When I tried to move, I couldn't because my back would kill me, as if I had trapped wind (but it wasn't that). At some points it'd be worse and I wouldn't be able to move at all. I know I didn't damage my back the night before, or do anything that could have triggered it.

What made it worse, was, I accidentally left my mobile phone on the computer table and so couldn't phone my dad to help me up. Luckily my back eased off for a moment and so I was able to get it.

I wasn't like you though, I was at least able to move my limbs, and didn't see a light (besides the sun) and didn't hear anything besides my brothers playing games.

I did have an incident early on in January this year, where I woke up (but could have still been half asleep) and looked over to my window, and saw a black figure with its arms folded. I know it wasn't my excercise bike because it was at a wrong angle and was too close to the centre of the window. I shut my eyes after seeing that thing and couldn't open them again, but don't know if I was able to move (didn't try).

However, that was on the back after having like 3-4 bad dreams (at least 2 of them were nightmares).

I've not heard of sleep paralysis before...but those symptons on that link don't sound very nice.

I have had shit like that once, but it wasn't as severe as your case for sure. Haven't really gotten into that stuff scientifically, but there should be mostly 2 cases how this shit appears: Lucid dreaming - you can move your limbs, but something that appears in the middle of the night usually scares you so shitless that it kind of paralyzes your mind instead of your body. Happened to me once...just felt like something slowly sat beside me on the bed and kept looking straight into my skull when I turned around towards it, but I just couldn't make out what it was, it was all blurry and grey. I wasn't dreaming it or anything. Or was I, fuck knows. When I turned around once again, it was gone. Second scenario should be like Nemesis described, got some buds who have experienced the same kind of shit.

Didn't expect so many people to have experienced it, did anyone actually SEE a figure though? All I saw was a very bright light, all I heard was a very deep ominous sound, and it FELT as if something was in the room pushing down on me, I saw no goblin no old hag no nothing

i woke up immediately and didnt have the balls to move for 5 mins because i was so fucking scared. it was worse, way worse then a bad dream
