Something doesn't just become useless because of a bunch of corrupt people. And not all politicians are bad. I know a decent and trustworthy politician.

It's like religion or Communism. It's not the subject/idea that is a problem, it's the people involved.

And if people don't get into politics, what happens when the next generation needs to step up? There won't be many options...besides the bad ones.

Just having a religion and believing it is alright, and if people actually followed their faith properly instead of being told how to follow it (like people being brainwashed into groups like al-Qaeda), there'd be less problems.
