[Complaint] Admins ability to see PM's
#21
By the way guys, has it never struck you that every time you send a PM on any server which has more than a plain LVDM script, someone reads and and somewhere it is logged? That's how it works these days. Administrators aren't dumbasses - they won't abuse their power, even if they are in a gang. They are not allowed to leak any private messages, as they are private.

The more you guys take away from us, the harder it is for us to do our jobs. You wait until someone screams "HE IS SPAMMING ME IN PM" in the mainchat - then you'll be sorry.

I don't mind if there is a log of what i say in PM's, but i don't like the fact that people can read what I'm saying "Live".

What i suggest is that you keep a log, but just don't make it appear on admins screen as it's being said :+

Kinda defeats half of the purpose of reading PMs if we can't see them live...

You guys have to try and see this from our side.

Another solution -

Only bring up key-words such as: "Cheat", "hack", "admin + sucks", get the drift? It would cut down on your PM load AND allow us to keep our privacy (in some cases). But keep a log of all pm's, just incase :D

Sigh.

I have to agree big time in here with tomozj.

PMs are PMs. Admins can see PMs because there's lots of people who also (Instead of flaming or whatever in the admin chat), they say stuff in PM which is totally Not Fucking Allowed. Thats the point of admins being able to read PMs. Also admins have a message level system I'll say. We can turn that shit off if we want too. PM is Private. PM stays Private. Admins aren't allowed to say stuff from people's PMs. And about gang related stuff & all of that, who cares? Those PMs only bother those 2 peoples. Admins might be able to see it, but we ain't that low to go snitch or whatever U might think we do.

The Gangchat was removed for admins and is for Management only. Why? Well, some admins are in gangs/clans. They could leak out what is going to happen, when will the enemy attack? How will they? etc etc.

I think phone calls & PMs should stay visible.

And another thing. Admins can't even be bothered actually reading them PMs because the chat of an administrator is 3 or 4 times faster then you guys' normal player chat. So we really ain't interested in actually caring what they say in PM, nor snitch it. We ain't that low I'll say again.

Our chat, most of the time when its really busy, is flooding.

I couldn't have cared less if an admin could see my PMs when I was just a normal player. I never gave a fuck about, because IMO admins should be able to see everything to be good at their job.

Indeed.

The admins on LVP were selected to admin for a reason, and it's unfair to assume they will use PM's for malicious purpose.  Don't take away useful tools that we rely on to keep LVP a fun place.

Well, that's just my opinion >:)

Thats what we do.

Lol. Admins can't even be bothered about 'secrets'. We'll only be bothered when it's about cheating or major bug abuse don't worry, because those words we'll notice in less then 2 seconds when its flooding.

So the point is, don't be bothered about admins being able to read PM's. We really ain't that low, and we don't jack you guys' privacy.

Well I have read everyone's comments and find it interesting in what you guys have to think and the conclusion to this complaint has been settled; not enough people actually care if their PM's are read or not, therefore nothing will take place and this thread should be locked unless admins wish to post anything.  :w

You shouldn't patronize LVP.
Really, the topic isn't over because you say it is--it ain't over 'til the fat lady sings.

Im not patronizing LVP, this is my complaint and I say it's closed unless an admin thinks otherwise to keep it open in order to set something new or what not.

Well, think about it. Is it really ONLY your complaint?
I'm sure there are many points to be brought up by many different people.
After all, this is a controversial issue.

Erm, the people who start topics usually are allowed to request their topic be locked, and have the request granted 99% of the time..

I've stated my points previously regarding this - nothing to add.
