I think the last 8 or so additions to the Crew were in the developement team. Joining the beta team / mappers helps too.

It used to be the players who did <3 the most got in though.

The only new additions from the development team were TransporterX and thiaZ, thiaZ has been admin forever, and TransporterX because he did a great job moderating, was incredibly active and had received temp mod before even getting promoted to dev. And yes, he "quit", he had stuff to do in real life. Being in the beta / mappers team also means nothing, since we are the one inviting you.
