Um, you get 180-300 ping because u live far away from the host.
The ping spikes however is most likely because your internet fucks up sometimes.
Like, u got shit internet.

Spilot, your ping spikes are awfully annoying (not the amount of your ping).
Those who says it's your computer specs are dumbfucks though.
What causes ping spikes as we all SHOULD know are;

• Interruptions/Interference (some admin chewing on your network cable, no probably not. I'll explain further down)
  
• Bandwidth limit, i.e. using up all the up and/or down speed, which can cause timeouts (you got nothing left for SA-MP, oh noes )
  
• Packet drops, most commonly known as warp (eg. 1 bit "dies" and needs to resend)

Interruptions can be when an application is uploading and/or downloading.. to make it easy, a torrent program.

You upload to the server, the server sends to you.
So what might, just might happen if something takes up just maybe 10kb/s of your 70kb/s upload rate?
OH NOTHING, I GOT 60KB/S LEFT FOR SA-MP.
Correct at one point, wrong on another.
Something will happen, something simply called traffic (no not vehicles) will have to go somewere.
The packets has to get through, so when it sends the data, your connection to LVP has to be paused.
It's 2010 now though, so no it does not pause. But it does affect.

So now your ping jumped up, yey!
Oh no the upload rate is even slower now Now your ping wen't down.
Up.
Down.
Up.
Down.
