Ontopic: just put in a ping-kicker. More than 350 ping average? - kbai!

Hah, 350 ping limit is  Maddolis Proof Fence, like the australians would say :D :D

Since his ping is 360 most of the time

I agree that there has to be an autokick if players get over a certain ammount of ping. I think 400 would be kickeble to give Aussies a change to play :P

An automatic kick function has been avoided for many reasons, as it does far more harm than good. The crew is more than capable of kicking those with high pings, but players should also report these players. (Officially, our ping limit is 500, but most of us kick for pings above 600 or 700 to be more fair.) However, I would not recommend going through the player list and just browsing for players with high pings to report. This is quite lame and unappreciated. Unless the player is actually trying to fight someone and lagging up a storm, there is no need to report them. Let them drive around and have some fun, as they're clearly not causing any trouble. Anyway, you should also understand that players with high pings don't necessarily lag. I can't tell you how many times I've fought someone with a ping of 1,000 and killed them with a fair amount of ease. (Some don't even lag that bad.) Oh, and be aware that players experience peaks during gameplay. What does this mean? It means that players' pings can sometimes get to very high levels, but it's only temporary and quickly returns back to normal. Why do you need to know this? Well, if you were to report a player for high ping, you might not see the player kicked. If this happens, it's because the player was just experiencing a peak and their actual ping was much lower (or because we abuse and never listen to our players). In any sense, it's the lag that we're after here, not necessarily high pings. Again, an automatic kick function would be terrible and I am wholeheartedly against the idea. We can handle high pings, but you, as players, can also do your part and report them.

First of all, for those of you who hide behind lag as an excuse for not winning, you're a cock. Second, I might post a long-winded post here. I don't know. If I do, sorry for putting strain on your eyes.

Lag is split into two types - connection and graphics. I'll start on connection lag:

What most people can't seem to comprehend is that blaming someone's ping is by the far the lamest excuse in the history of SA-MP for losing a gun fight. I cannot stress this enough. SA-MP is different on the basis of deathmatching than other games such as Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source, but then again, both of those games (Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike: Source) are also different by certain significant aspects. 1.6 is different than Source in that the recoil is MUCH different. If you play both of these games and think otherwise, you're a shit player. If you're actually a good player then you're not very bright or incredibly lucky. SA-MP has lag. You see delayed pictures of someone on your screen which could be further off on theirs. If a person has a higher ping than you, then you're going to have to compromise, i.e shooting in the opposite direction that they're moving in hope for them to be actually running that way on their screen. If a person with a significantly larger ping than yours is able to (literally) beat you, then they obviously have practiced more on fighting people with the same ping as yours.

For example, I have a ping of 80, I'm fighting a guy in Argentina with a ping of 300. To him, it's the exact same thing as I having a ping of 300 and he having one of 80. Therefore you both lag-out/warp at the same time. There's no excuse for losing that other than that he's a better deathmatcher than you. (At least versus connections such as yours.) Instead of being a complete douchebag like some of you are, you should congratulate him for putting time into learning the defects and flaws of his routing to a country farther from him than it is from you. SHARE THE LOVE.

Mechanical/graphics wise - I don't want to spend time on this. People with bad PCs do have a clear advantage AT TIMES, but there are ways around it.

Sorry for making such a useless post that takes up extra scrolling space, because I'm sure no one has actually read it. For those self-centered and egregious people; you're completely irrational.

Damn man, excellent post. I couldn't agree more with everything you wrote. I can't stand laggers altogether, and I notice when I run into a lagger, I TAB real quick and check his ping, it's not extraordinarily high, it's normal (80-250 imo), yet this player is still laggin up, warping here and there, and I have a little trouble hitting him. If you really have aim you can beat any lagger, easily. I personally just play around and test different spots around the lagger until I see a decrease in armor, then I just repeat. When me and my friend TaPoUt play on 2 computers in the same room, I notice when we duel, and he starts laggin up a bit (due to shitty WiFi connection), my shots aren't registering on his screen, so I'm shooting all the right spots, but he isn't seeing my shots... quite annoying.
