You Americans have a real, hard problem understanding what the meaning of being "British" is, and that's a fact. Also, for some reason, more than half of you refer to the United Kingdom as "England" or simply "London", forgetting Scotland and Wales. That is wrong. This may be because of a couple of reasons:

England is the biggest country in the UK and it also contains more than 80% of the UK's population. The English language comes from England (Scotland and Wales have their respectful languages also). The Royal Family comes from England, and the capital of the United Kingdom is in England. Therefore, must of the world assume that British people are "English", which is of course not true.

Now, lets teach you confused Americans yet another thing or two.

Great Britain is the official name given to the three kingdoms of England, Scotland and Wales.

England
People living in England can say that they're English or British, but most people living in England tend to call themselves English.

Scotland
People living in Scotland can say that they're Scottish or British, but most people living in Scotland will call themselves Scottish rather than British. Following me? Good...

Wales
People born in Wales can call themselves Welsh or British, although most of them would say they are Welsh rather than British.

These phrases above in bold are nationalities. My nationality is Scottish. Jerome's is English. Any Welsh people?
