You Americans have a real, hard problem understanding what the meaning of being "British" is, and that's a fact. Also, for some reason, more than half of you refer to the United Kingdom as "England" or simply "London", forgetting Scotland and Wales. That is wrong. This may be because of a couple of reasons:

England is the biggest country in the UK and it also contains more than 80% of the UK's population. The English language comes from England (Scotland and Wales have their respectful languages also). The Royal Family comes from England, and the capital of the United Kingdom is in England. Therefore, must of the world assume that British people are "English", which is of course not true.

Now, lets teach you confused Americans yet another thing or two.

Great Britain is the official name given to the three kingdoms of England, Scotland and Wales.

England
People living in England can say that they're English or British, but most people living in England tend to call themselves English.

Scotland
People living in Scotland can say that they're Scottish or British, but most people living in Scotland will call themselves Scottish rather than British. Following me? Good...

Wales
People born in Wales can call themselves Welsh or British, although most of them would say they are Welsh rather than British.

These phrases above in bold are nationalities. My nationality is Scottish. Jerome's is English. Any Welsh people?

So, after reading what I've said, you still believe that people living in Scotland and Wales are not British.. then you're a complete and utter idiot. :D

Jerome isn't American, but I am. I can also tell you that you have yet to comprehend my true intention of calling you a "SCOT with a STRAW HAT." I have to say that this is quite saddening, but let me reiterate for you...

IT'S A FUCKING JOKE!

My God, stop crying already you damned SCOT.

Re: Definition of being "British" - Phyc0 - 06-13-2009

No, it's not a joke, and if it was meant to be, it wasn't funny at all. :/ All of what I've said above it true, so fucking admit that you're wrong.

Re: Definition of being "British" - TEF - 06-13-2009

I assure you that it was and has always been a joke, but I'll play right along if you're wanting to make this such a huge deal...

I was never wrong, considering the fact that I was merely calling you a "Scot"—which, as you stated, is correct...

Care to retract your argument yet, sir?

Re: Definition of being "British" - Phyc0 - 06-13-2009

No, no. You said I wasn't British and I could not officially call myself a Brit. When in actual fact, I am British, and you're so mother fucking wrong! :D

Oh, I see you're disparately trying to force me to drop this argument? As you know I'm right and you're wrong? I see...

First off, "motherfucker" is one word (and therefore, "motherfucking" is also one word). Now that we've gotten that out of the way, we can move on...

Once again, let me point out how this was just a gigantic joke. You always found it amusing and I did as well, so I continued. You should have let me know if you actually thought I believed this, as I assure you I never have. I have always known these facts, so for you to actually make a topic based solely upon an assumption is not only foolish but also insulting. Again, this entire thing has always been a joke. Always. I'll stop it, though, considering you're so bent on proving I'm wrong when in actuality you just can't accept the fact that the entire thing has always been a joke.

Phyc0 you're an idiot, we all know Wales pwns you.

Also this thread is just stupid, I have no idea why you made this and its just stupid.

Edit: Infact you're making us Brits look bad.

First off, this isn't a fucking English lesson, nor do I use American English. And I'm sure you can see that I didn't mention "mother fucker". It was mother fucking.

Now, you and other players know that it's a joke that pisses me off, hence the topic. By the way, I never mentioned your name once in my topic, TEF (minus the quotes). This topic was directed at people from all around the world who also get it wrong. Even people living in Britain... get it wrong. So, don't for one second sit there and think this was directed solely at you, TEF.

Insults don't vary in spelling simply because you're using British English opposed to American English.

Evidence:

http://dictionary.reference.com/browse/motherfucker

And don't even try to say that some add-on to Firefox is better than the actual dictionaries. It's not, nor will it ever be.

You have never once shown actual aggression toward the joke. Sure, there were the insults that you've made, but they were always looked upon as clever retorts. Again, had you actually come to me and seriously stated that you wanted me to stop, I would have taken it seriously. Instead, you decide to create this topic and try to humiliate me in public.

Right. Let me tell you exactly what this is. This is a way to try to turn the tables on the opposing side due to simple misunderstanding of origin. It won't work, Phyc0, but you deserve your kudos for clever thinking. No, I know that you were pinpointing me for a few reasons. For starters, I know it was directed toward me because you quoted me to begin the thread. That's just obvious, man. Secondly, there is also the fact that you, immediately upon finishing this topic, messaged me in-game via #LVP.Echo to check out the sub-forum.

What I think is going on is your total lack of understanding of how long-term jokes work. I always thought of this as our little inside joke, but apparently I've struck a nerve. No worries, however, because I assure you I will never use the joke again. I apologize if I have ever insulted you, as this was truly never my intention. My intention was to have a bit of fun between us, but I guess that failed.
