Kamelot were great fun although it was during their set that the rains came down heavy.
I enjoyed Brutal Assault more than Wacken- probably as the weather and lineups were better- but they were both great.
I ended up seeing Crimson Glory again (this time I saw their entire set) in a small club in south Holland, and got to meet their vocalist, guitarist and drummer. I met shoebox, Terror, Nerd and Banaal briefly between Italy and Holland, but then spent more time with them and Superpain on the 16th, 17th, and 18th-19th. Planty fun times.
In Ireland now, and will be heading back to Australia in 5-6 days. There'll be some big names coming to Australia later this year- Dark Funeral (who were very good at Wacken), Cannibal Corpse (though I probably won't go), and At the Gates (who I didn't see at Brutal Assault due to leaving a day early) who could be worth seeing.
It was a shame we couldn't see Solstafir or Swallow the Sun at Brutal Assault due to leaving a day early, but arriving in Belgium on the 12th in time to see an entire Primordial set.
Will watch that soon Maka, it looks fairly great without the audio
Awesome as dude
