Nuclear power will always be around. It will just keep getting more sophisticated and better. For example, right now, well over half of what is getting produced is actually for the trash can. With the fourth generation (right now they're actually still with the third generation, and in most countries, just like Japan, still the second) it will be improved dramatically. By the way, nuclear power was even way more dangerous during the sixties than it was in the eighties during the Chernobyl incident.
