[Idea] Training grounds
#1
As most of you will know by now, MTA will get ped-support in their next version. This means that we can create NPC peds which can do anything we want them to do. For this purpose, I think it's a good idea to provide a series of training grounds for players to test their skills in. There will be a number of levels available;
  • Easy
  • Normal
  • Hard
  • Extreme

Each of these levels will have five or six rounds, all of which you have to complete before you may advance to the next level. You can compare these with the ammunation-tests in singleplayer, but harder. The subjects will eventually start to return fire with increasingly difficult weapons, whereas the end boss will be an advanced AI character that will be hard to beat in a one-on-one battle.

This could be used to disvalue the sawnoff shotguns in fighting, as well as the UZI, making players pick other weapons by default. It can also be incorporated with the statistics on someone's page, thinking about levels * rounds titles to indicate one's level in weapon handling. Eventually this idea could be expanded to allow per-weapon trainings.

wow, sounds good to me. Would attract more fighters to our server also.

@Peter:  :/

Well. We could implament it towards gangs so that they could use it to their own personal training scheme.

Rather than just making useless comments saying you either like it, don't like it or think it's going to be hard, it would be awesome if you people could actually post something we can use - idea's, extensions or plans on how to implent it. How would you create such a feature? As has been said in the sticky thread, if you can't show a little intelligence on the subject of suggestions, then please stick to CSI.

It'd be cool to do this in some interior such as the big crack house factory thing that you have to raid near the end of the game and kill Big Smoke (last mission?).

Then every storey would be a level, and basically you'd go to LS and enter the house, and pick which gun you'd like to do it with.

And the final guy could be Big Smoke maybe? :+

I think that would just make it too much like the actual last level of the game, people would play single player if they wanted that imo.
I do like the idea about it being that interior your speaking of. What if though it was different people, not Big smoke or anything related, like the last boss was the guy wearing nothing but boxers or something :+

Yeah, true. You get the general idea though.

If we try and keep very generic skins throughout (guys in suits etc.) then I think it'll be fine. They can just be like guys from The Matrix or something - just keep coming.

On one level for instance you could have to take out 20 guys with head shots? Until that's done they keep coming? (unlimited)

Then it isn't just about killing them, it's about accuracy and such.

the first level of training i think could be like an obstacle course, so you can increase your agility and speed. climbing up barriers and such.

How would you "increase your agility and speed"?
I don't think there's really much to master in the art of climbing/running, it's pretty straightforward. We could, however, make small posts to demonstrate what height you can jump to, jump over, etc. Maybe familiarize the player with San Andreas' terrain?
