Will SA-MP fade when GTA4 is out?

There's fun in IV single player as there is in IV multi- except sa-mp has the community.
Once IV-multi goes on computer and gets a more established community, it'll take over for sure (although in terms of numbers, it already has).

VC single player > SA single player.

SA-MP wont fade if GTA 4 is out for pc, i dont even got the cash to buy it, so i will be keep playing sa-mp, but my brother is gonna buy it, i will play it sometimes just to try how it feels, but i will be keep playing sa-mp, cause all my friends are there too.

SA-MP Will Not Fade Our Unless, GTA4-MP Mod Is Created... I mean 16 Players per server on the standard GTA 4 Online play... and then limited space... how does that compare to SA-MP 100 and 125 slot servers using the full (larger than the whole GTA 4) San Andreas Map. Unless the multiplayer is improved for PC or a simialr free mod is released for GTA 4 no way will it compete.. People may play GTA 4 for its missions and new features but after those its dead.. nothing compared to the huge servers on SA-MP.

well maybe you don't understand, GTA4 = perfect sync. either way I'm sure people won't have the specs they need to play GTA4 on PC so they'll either stay on sa-mp or get a new PC.

sa-mp will probably fade, but I don't know if GTA4 will have anything to do with it.
It could be like UT'99. It's not as crowded as it was between 2000-2003, but there are still many, many players and clans still playing it, and it's almost 10 years after release.
sa-mp will need active development; new features and lots of bugfixing. I doubt that will happen. Therefore I'll put my money on MTA in the long run.

Yes, the official multiplayer- but if someone were to make a multiplayer mod to GTA IV (like vc-mp and sa-mp) then the sync probably wouldn't be perfect.

And GTA4 official multi = 98% perfect (I know thats basically what you meant by "perfect"), the 2% loss due to people downloading at very high rates (I've noticed some funky stuff whilst downloading at high rates- still better than sa-mp sync for sure, but just short of 100.

Well, if its that ping based as games like "Counter-Strike: Source" and so on, ppl with a higher ping than 120 won't be able to play properly.
At once i was downloading while playing and had a ping of 400 in a perfect-sync game (day of defeat:source). With a ping higher than 200 your model doesnt move, everything laggs, you cant switch weapons and shit, and on the screens of other players you arent moving so your an easykill, because you cant shoot by yourself and so on. Impossible to play with such a high ping.

But i've read many people saying that this is only a Rockstar games trick for us gamers to think that the game wont be available on PC so we'd buy it on xbox360 and ps3 , and in a year or so when everyone will already have gta4 on a game console , then they will release gta4 on PC to make more money.

But this is just a thought , isn't proven or anything...

Well, on the Games Convention in Leipzig (Germany) there has been announced that IV will have

* definitely MORE than 16 players in multiplayer
* the PC version has better graphics than the console versions
* a tuned "replay"-function with lots of functions to create little ingame videos.
