what the purpose of crushing stones? were is it used then ?

We crush it down to different sizez, like 0-8  8-16 - 16-32 also 0-32 and 32-64, get different sizes we use on roads, or around houses etc, lots of stuff. Dunno how to explain it on english, but don't you have gravel outside your house? We crush that etc

Oh ye now i understand, but why crush a rock thats 10tons, when it tooks like 20k years till it became that?
