I have the same card as Rien, but I've got an Athlon II X2 3.0Ghz.

Only 2 gig of ram D:
If I run fraps, I get about 20-30 FPS on GTA IV.

for recording with fraps nothing is as important as your HDD's speed... any up2date processor can handle fraps with ezzzz, its the HDD that limits

damn gotta upgrade, cause the 5870 seems to lag at times  but then i guess its cause its a laptop card

Actually, I've already proven it's mainly harddrive and processor.  :>
