I made a post ealier in this thread that the only reason I want to see England fail is because they think they have a God given right to be supier at football... and I said they' ll finish their group in 2nd place and then be knocked out straight away.
It was obvious, they're not a good team on a global scale. Sure all the players may be great in the UK leagues, but as an international side they didn't have a chance.
But it was sad to see their goal disallowed. Coming from an Irish perspective the same injustice happend to us... now I'm not big into football, I would only watch the would cup and the european finals etc but after Ireland being knocked out and then England and Mexico got bitch slapped when a simple system would have prevented it, it highlights that football is a stupid sport. Not because of the game, but the way its run.
As I said above I only watch world cup/euorpean cup level football, and out of the last 6 games I watched over the last year the majority had major injustice. I don't blame the players(obviously) or the refs, as I know they wouldn't disallow anything on purpose as it should have been as in impacts their careers in a major way...but c'mon, its time football/FIFA joined the modern world which started 20 years ago and started to referee the game to the basic standard of other sports.
Also, FIFAs behaviour in South Africa, bribing the governemt so dutch female players who happend to be in a group wearing miniskirts with a t-shirt with a company slogan... like most people in the world wearing a t-shirt with a company logo - to the point some of them where charged with a crimial offence and the SA goverment bending over backwards to dislocate over 100,000 south africans because they lived in a slum next to a highway that might be seen by world cup tourists on the highway, the ticket/empty seats, a brit fan looking for a toilet ending up in the england dressing room and leaving wihout incident while saying sorry when he was directed by a steward only to be charged for trespassing, south africans security stewards making a stand about the utter shit pay they where getting only to be rushed, gassed and assulted by the SA police which they conducted a peacefull protest AFTER the match in question after they did their job combined to their intolerance to basic technology that would aid fair play among other things has highlighted my believe that FIFA are scum, even on the fair play side and they are holding the game back.
This world cup as been a real eye opener, football is far from fair at the moment and is run by ignornat money grabbbing tards who clearly care more about money and 'stability' via control rather than the game itself, which should be their primary concern.
FIFA are scum, sooner people see this, especialy fans, the better as it may bring change or a rival football association.
