The fact that you have to do that, sucks. Right, install some updates, fine.

Buy buy new hardware because of your OS is fucking idiot 7(8)7

Seriously thePiet, are you dumb? If you think installing service packs isnt needed, go try to use Windows XP without them. An OS thats almost 9 years old already, how the fuck would you think it could be any better then Vista?

Vista is better and more secure.

Because it's more mature. Windows XP is finished.

I'll shut 'em now.  :X

seriously..

xp took some hefty years to mature...!

and vista is getting the way it shud be

hopefully the ram usage will reduce over time..

if not...then go and fire up windows 7....and stfu  8)

why dont you be lucky that the processes can use the amount of ram they need to run best?

PS: Vista reserves a special amount of RAM for programs, which gets "free" again if a massive application starts up (like a game), so its not really eating that much RAM like people think.

I myself got me another 4GB Ram kit before the financial crysis for  24€,  i got 8gb now...  upgrading RAM was never cheaper.

Ofcourse people who somehow don't have the money to upgrade their computers can stick with XP, and if they already have Vista and suffer from the bad performance due to their pc hardware, there are several tools to disable all the performance eating stuff that Vista usesl.

yeah

as far as it goes for me...i have both vista and xp

no point in removing vista :P i love it..specially for some stuff that runs only in DX10

like that shift..i dont wanna upgrade my xp to sp3..it fucks up some things..!

so vista is my backbone for the other apps

and dont forget the windows media center ;)
