In the whole country the scholars went on strike.

This is what happened on my old highschool (from around 12 years old untill either 16-17-18 years old depending on the education. If you fail a year you could be up to 20 or 21 untill you are finished. They stopped a community bus in the middle of a square. When I was in secondary school (high school, w/e) we had 1200 hours of school a year. What was the 'norm' for dutch schools before the new 1040 rule? I'm assuming by 'scholars' you mean students.

Hmm imo, home school does mess up your social life. You dont sit in a classroom full of other kids, so that means no fun, no acting like kids, no socializing.

No, I get off earlier and hang with my friends, and in the area I live in, kids pop pills during class, talk about their kids, and how GaNGsTA they are.

I don't know really, but with 1040 hours you get lessonhours, without the breaks, without a class being skipped because a teacher is absent,

Ahh, now I see. With just lesson hours in mind, my school would have been about 851 hours a year. Adding another 189 hours would be another month of school for us, which I think would be okay if one wasn't in really hard classes.
