Guideline: Gaming-PC for your budget!
#61
I tried making the cheapest decent build possible, having a price range to work on would be cool tho. And yeah, the 550s should be the same as 460s, but 460s are out of production, so maybe you can find a used one... I'm not really a fan of 2nd hand pc parts tbh :P

I wouldn't suggest trying to build up a pc by starting from the fact it should be "cheap" either, cause spending a bit more can be worth it. I'd rather save money for a better pc rather than being impatient and buying a cheap one

Personally, I wouldn't build any gaming pc, even budget, with anything lower than a 560 or 6950. More games are starting to use DX11 which is a real fps killer. Also gaming at 1080p is becoming more standard which requires a decent gpu

Anyone looking to build right now should just wait for the upcoming 7000 and 600 series cards. 28nm is gonna bring some big gains

Well I went with something else than suggested, I decided to go with AMD as it'll be enough for me.

ASUS VH192D (19" monitor)
CM HAF 912 Plus Case
ASUS M5A97 Pro AM3+ Motherboard
AMD Phenom II X4 960T (will unlock it to X6)
8GB DDR3 1600MHz - Corsair Vengeance
CM GX 650W PSU
ASUS GTX 560 Ti DCU II
ASUS 24x DVD/RW Drive
Some cheap keyboard
HDD: I'll be using my old one.

That set me back around £580

It's time for a new one, still running on a 3 year old dual core. (3,3 ghz)
This way I don't have to buy a new one for another 3/4 years, hopefully.
