[Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick
#31
We're going to be censoring swearwords most likely, not muting players who use them. Administrators will be doing most of the punishments for this feature, as tying it to things such as an anti-caps system would be a little harsh. This system isn't going to be ridiculous, just will punish the entire gang for 'serious' offenses such as bad flaming, bug abusing etc.

You're also doubting the no swearing policy now - take that to the appropriate topic. That's irrelevant, as I said before that the policy won't affect this feature. To go on to say that the feature is idiotic isn't surprising by now - for an administrator you seem rather.. against policies of LVP..

I don't want to hear about that stuff here... stick on-topic as much as you can.

I completely understand.
With 10 players ingame, the administrators do not have the time to mute 3 flamers, because they're busy chasing all the many players that are using cheats.

Tell me please, what percentage of your ingame time (directed to any mod/admin) do you spend finding/kicking/banning cheaters?
What if a crewmember tells me to "shut up," will you mute the entire crew?

You're just punishing innocent people here, and creating a rift between gang/clanmates.
This idea will not lower the amount of flame, it'll just increase it, as people will be flaming more people, as I mentioned earlier. Why not attack the problem at the source? Actually enforce rules such as "no taxi abuse", or move the VIP room (really, really simple to do), or mute flamers early- because from a fighter's perspective, crewmembers are just people who yell "no caps!" "language!" and kick/ban the occasional person or cheater.

How's it going to increase the amount of ingame flaming if all members involved are muted or such? :+

And the taxi abuse has been fixed, along with moving the VIP room. We're already trying, but you're talking about gang members as if they're innocent - but they're really not. I've seen the gang flames, I've seen the chat get spammed up by idiots trying to show off their tiny e-dicks. Most of the time, these people are gang members.. I'm sure a lot of people will agree with me. Who cares if we create a rift between gang/clanmates? That's just punishment for flaming.

Hi,

If this works, ye it would be great, but I think (like Nakebod said) that people will go more solo.

I mean, its not because you have one flamer the whole gang should be punished, there will grow hate BUT if more people of the same gang flame another gang then they should be punished all, hm dunno hard to say.

great? thats not great. thats just another command that will decrease the average player stats on LVP.

Uhh... we do?
Just because you guys are crew it doesn't make you so much better than us.
We play the game for fun. You apparently play the game to limit our fun, which gets you off.

for flaming.
Two posts ago I explained this, but lets break it down to simpler, "youth-friendly" language.
There are 3 people.
Person A, person B, and, wouldn't you know it, person C.
Person A is gangmates with person B, but enemies with person C (big time taxi abuser, lagger noob gf person C gf yeyeye~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~).
Person A flames. Person B gets muted.
Person B tells Person A not to flame.
Person A is insulted from copping crap from his own clanmember.
Person A is now enemies with person B.
Person A now flames with person B and person C = 100% more flame.

Please don't make me break it down any simpler than that.

Oh, but they're muted, so they can't flame?
Well why not just mute person A and person C in the first place?
I know why. Because it takes 5 seconds of your precious "life" (spent playing a game, go figure) to type ANOTHER /mute id instead of just /mute gang id.

As I said earlier, if muting people id by id is so hard, then give me "mute" rights and I'll do it for you.
I don't mind ""wasting"" 10 seconds of my ingame time muting FLAMERS instead of muting a bunch of people, some guilty and some innocent.

I actually liked this idea until Madd's first post, and I agree with what TEF says too.

How will it increase the flame?

Simple, there's 6 people in a gang. One of them flames at another player for killing him, all 6 get muted. Once unmuted, they'll flame at the player who got them muted, which will cause them more mutes, aswell as getting the player clan kicked. Then when unmuted again, they'll all flame at eachother blaming eachother, then that clan will disband and will not exist anymore.

So it'll increase flame between the gang, AND it'll increase the chance of clans dying out.

On the other hand, if one person gets the whole gang muted, then that one person could get kicked, but again that'll kill of clans, just a bit more slowly. Once one person is kicked after getting the gang muted and kicked, another gang member will start off a week later, and eventually he'll get kicked, and so on.

Also, you say it'll give the Crew an easier time, but I don't see how it can be hard doing /mute [id], even if you would have to do it a lot.

When you refer to me talking about giving the crew an 'easier time', I mean that they don't have to put up with bull from gang members, not the amount of commands they have to type. Gang members should learn to not flame in the main chat - they can use the gang chat to do complain to each other for all I care, and if they take it to the main chat again instead of gang chat or such then they'll be deservedly muted.

We aren't trying to limit your fun, but instead cut back on flaming. Your flaming (I'm talking about gangs now, this is no personal attack) ruins the game for some people, thus making you the people who are limiting other people's fun. If gangs are to flame and bicker, then I'm more than happy to let them rot with each other and create whatever rift - that's their fault for flaming. Your points would be valid and I'd agree if it wasn't for one fatal flaw - for the problems you mention to happen to gang members, gang members have to flame / break the rules - making it their fault entirely. Is it too hard to keep your mouths shut, gangs?

This feature won't kill clans, that's an exaggeration by far. Perhaps it'll start some internal conflicts, but that's for breaking the LVP rules - it's a shame gangs don't already clamp down internally on those who break server rules (apart from cheating of course, you guys already do that ;)).

dont bite the hand that feeds you. The only thing that will happen are fewer gangs playing on LVP and as a result of this more people will play some where else because there arent many guys online on LVP without some gangs

On top of that point, if admins are so sick of these "admin abuse" calls, I'll tell you now, muting innocent people won't stop people from crying "abuse."

Admins don't have to put up with all the bullshit/flaming of some clanmembers (seriously though, it's rarely IF EVER directed to the admins, so if you think its hard on you, try being on the receiving end).
They can just /mute id at the start.
There is no reason to mute innocent people.

Have you seen Full Metal Jacket, by any chance?
I'm not saying the clanmember who gets his clan muted will end up committing suicide on a toilet, but the same scenario can easily occur.
