[Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - tomozj - 09-11-2008 This is a suggestion which I'd like the entire community to discuss if the Management would like to be open minded. You might ask why I'd wait when I'm a developer anyway for the Management, however this would be something which would change a large-ish portion of the kicking system, so I believe this is up to the Management ultimately. We know that we have problems with gang members teaming up for reasons other than fighting, and causing problems - gang-flaming, bug abusing and such. This would be a system which would avoid gangs flaming people as a group and such. The concept is making the gang members responsible for keeping the other members of the gang under control. Why should administrators have to deal with 10 crazy flamers? Let them deal with eachother - you get the general idea. How would we do this? Well, if a member of a gang receives a punishment from an administrator (not an auto-punishment such as an idle kick), then this punishment will be dealt with to the rest of the gang, with the exception of a ban. If one member decides to spam caps, then everyone will be punished. One person flames? Everyone is muted. If you think this is unfair, then think it over. Gang members should be on the same side as each other, so abuse is out of the question. And gangs would be responsible for keeping each other in line. This would hopefully reduce the amount of gang flaming we see. Tell me what you think. Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Sander - 09-11-2008 Interesting approach. If it works well, it's a very nice system. Muted? Blame your own gang \o/ Possible side affect: People go "solo", aka without joining a gang, but in fact they are still a member of the gang. So if you mute, only that person is muted. Not what you want. Let's see what other people think. Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Turkey - 09-11-2008 Great idea, reminds me of school to be honest. ![]() We should try this out and see if it helps.. @Nakebod maybe a tag detection or something?
Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Sander - 09-11-2008 People changing names. Any more ideas?
Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Munch - 09-11-2008 Maybe a /gangkick scrpt for the Crew. /gangkick [gang id] to kick a gang, and /gangmute [gang id] to mute a gang. That would also be good I then. I can see the auto-kicking leading to some problems, but we'd have to have it to see first. Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Ben - 09-11-2008 I like the idea, but i can't think of any to combat Nakebods statements at this point. I shall report back later if i think of any. Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Badeend - 09-11-2008 The idea is interesting. Gang tag detection is needed and I don't think people will change their names for this. Different tags for the same gang shouldn't be allowed. Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Ben - 09-11-2008 Hold on a minute. What if gangs that have their own subforums are connected to the server? Then they dont even have to use the /gang invite command because the server already knows what gang they are in. Similar to the ingame stats in your profile thing. Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Rien - 09-11-2008 I like this ![]() Re: [Suggestion] Auto Gang Kick - Turkey - 09-11-2008 (09-11-2008, 05:43 PM)Ben link Wrote: Hold on a minute. Similar to the ingame stats in your profile thing. Guess you're talking about a gang system similiar to GTA:T. I thought this is planned for LVP 3.0 (MTA) and is actually not easy to code? Would be some neat feature though. |
