some interesting points made in this post,regarding ship shooting, If we had an armour facility on ship this would stop the health armour take down being an issue, we all know those who do this to have an advantage when someone wants to leave the ship in the normal way. As for ruining cruises, perhaps persistant offenders deserve a ban, and in some cases a clan kick to get the point accross. I  now suggest that the punishment facility for driveby's (if you choose to jail them)be increased to 2 mins rather than 1min. I have been killed with drivebye a few times on my way to the ship only to find that the offender is aready on the ship by the time I get there from wherever I'm randomly respawned.Anyways thats my little imput on this whole subject.

cheers

I've thought armour on the ship would be good, but running on the ship for the health is bad enough, and armour isn't that far from outside the ship if you're gonna get armour (just run to the left to the ship and it's there).

Alright, I realize Greyfox has a poor attitude, so don't even bring that up. Moderator Chevy extended his ban from the normal 3 day ban for bug abuse to 7, all because he was banned in the past for it. Never has this happened on LVP. I believe the guidelines are Bug Abuse = 3 day ban.

I'd like to interrupt here and say that the ban time increases as people re-offend so don't say that the guidelines are solid @ 3 days. If I recall correctly, there's always been a sticky in some private crew forum with ban periods, and this is explicitly defined in it. I agree however that a ban for using caps is absolutely ridiculous. Even if muting didn't work, a kick or even several kicks if need be should have been enforced.

Administrators have the right to change the ban time depending on the severity of the issue - such as what words were used during flaming, how someone bug abused etc. etc. That's probably a reason why I'd say that public guidelines on ban times would ever be created - as people would be whining that they've been banned for too long. I'm with the administrators on this one, and if you believe a ban is unfair simply open a CSI topic complaining about that administrator's decision and the Management can deal with it - there needn't be a feud between the you and the administrator in question.

Regarding the issues with a ship grenadier being banned after throwing two grenades - again, that is an extremely harsh punishment.

Yes.

Just to make something clear, about shipshooting; The time automatically increases.

Bug abuse = 2-3 days ban
Flaming = 2-3min mute

Your wrong there, I was banned a week for c-bug abuse, instead of the normal 3.

i was talking about recent bans in general, darius. bans never got extended because they've been banned for it in the past.

Precisely. It's been that way for as long as I've been on LVP.
