You said you have a new pc, so whats the problem with around 100,- extra. Its just a % of the total price...new pc = new OS ill say. Vista takes more memory and thus is slower in startup, but Vista mostly sucks in an envirement with more pc's or servers attached (=roaming problem with user-profiles, printdrivers etc.) I should go for a complete new W7 and not the update (Vista-)versions because than you are sure you have something better than XP or Vista.
