well nuclear power solves the oil burning problem bla bla bla, but we can see the example of an accident on chernobyl and it will stay radioactive for 25years arpox.

Quote:Radioactive waste is a waste product containing radioactive material. It is usually the product of a nuclear process such as nuclear fission, though industries not directly connected to the nuclear power industry may also produce radioactive waste.
isnt fission what they do to produce nuclear power? and where do they put that nuclear waste?

In April (I guess) 25 years will have passed after the explosion. And I don't know if it really counts here too, but uranium loses it's radioactivity by 50% after more than 4 billion years.

Fission is when atoms split, fusion is when atoms combine. And I think they put nuclear waste deep in the ground.

Quote:Human kind is not able to live without nuclear power. Nuclear plants are becomming way more sofisticated and keep improving. Cherynobel is an example which nothing could compare with.

The human race as we know it has been here for 200.000 years. Oh yes, we are.
