Idiotic MSN

So once again, MSN is fucked. I have been using MSN 8.1 always, I hate that goddamn 9.5 or whatever, I've been using 8.1 for 3-4 years now or so, and I never had this problem. Today, when I try to sign in, it shows me this message:

So I click the no option and it doesn't let me sign in. ffs. I click the yes option. It shows that it's downloading newest version but after some time it says 'Unable to download'. Fuck off. Then I tried installing the newest manually. Took me few hours. I try to load it, but it says some shitty Send report/Don't send report screen, that it must have been a crash. DAMMIT.

Question here: How do I get rid of that shit aka of the screen 'newest version' without installing newest version? I hate 9.5.

Nvm, sorted. Gotta love the fact that MSN Messenger developers disabled the use of 8.5 and downwards, but there is still a way how to use them!
Go to C:\Program Files\Windows Live\Messenger
Right click msnmsgr.exe, select Compatibility and then select Compatibility mode as Windows 2000. :P
For those who try to install 8.5 and are stuck on 99%, download the alternative installer here: http://www.woot-is-awesome.info/~markkit.../wlm85.msi

Use the new one, it isn't bad at all tbh. It was in it's early stages, there I agree, but it got way less buggy than before. I used 8.5/9.0 beta all the time but eventually updated anyway. Around the same time I also read on a few sites that Microsoft would not support older versions anymore and "force" people to update to version 14.x.
