well you can say intel/nvidia is the best, and you can say its not the best.
It depends on what you buy.
Ofcourse, an Intel Core i7 965XE in combination with a nvidia GTX 295 SLI is the best you can get, but look at the cost: the CPU = 1000$, the card 360$*2 due to SLI, makes 1720$ just for graphics and cpu.
imo Intel is clear superior in the GPU part, while nvidia has the better cards in the graphics part, but they sell it more expensive than AMD does.
AMD has the best performance for your money, but nvidia has more functions and extras (like the possibility of bios-editing, SLI enabling in non-SLI games, CUDA, etc etc), but you pay for that.
Oh and all linux users are kinda forced to buy nvidia, since AMD has no linux drivers, just unstable 3rd party shit by hobby modders.
Thats why i like Nvidia more than AMD, and due to that i have no problem with paying ~20$ more for the same performance.
