Well it's either top 3 2011 or top 3 2012 for me.
2011 would probably be Obscura, Prey for Nothing, Moonsorrow (Fleshgod and Gernotshagen filling out the top 5 I guess).

Yeah, it was actually released at the end of last year. I keep thinking it got released this year because I only happened to find downloads for it later on.
Either way, it's one of my favourites from both years really. There's just so much greatness out there that it's hard to keep track of everything.
That being said... I should probably check around once more for some great bands this week.
