In the year 2231 human scientists working for the earth alliance design anchor drive technology, anchor drives allow spacecraft to enter subspace through weakened points in real space (anchor points). after this historic discovery humanity bursts out of the confines of the Sol-system and into the cosmos. after four decades of peace and a boom in colonisation, settlers in the argon cluster asteroid belt are wiped out by an aggressive alien species claiming the belt as their territory.

These aliens are the Dijjal-Ntar Federation, the amalgamation of the warlike Dijjal and Ntar races, several centuries ago the Dijjal decided to conquer their neighbour species and found the Ntar to be very adept with technology, they were integrated into Dijjal society as artisans and technical advisors. The Federation make countless devastating attacks in human space, it wasn't long until they found earth.

Every other planet had been lost, the remainder of the human fleet gathered at earth to prepare for the impending attack. Seven hours the battle raged in the skies of earth, the Dijjal-Ntar ruthlessly destroying every ship, every lifeboat. After the last battleship fell the federation began to enter the atmosphere to enslave the remainder of humanity, when they landed the last of the humans were concentrated in central America, Spire city, built to commemorate human ingenuity was a gleaming citadel, a true bastion, and as the federation ships, troops and tanks prepared to lay siege, a chain reaction began in the central fusion generator, it spread to the subsidiary reactors and down to the deep-earth geothermal collectors. In their last moments, humanity tore the earths heart asunder.

The federation fleet was decimated, so was humanity... or so the federation thought. Before the battle of earth, a fleet had been assembled on the far side of the moon, and it sat there watching the remnants of humanity make their last stand. It sat until the federation fleet entered the atmosphere where their sensors would be impaired, then the fleet left. The fleet never looked back, they jumped from anchor point to anchor point, system to system, after centuries of running the ships had become overcrowded and eventually memory of their tragic past disappeared. Humanity settled on a new planet, a new home and began anew.

The Commonwealth Empire sprang into power and began an expansionist campaign into the stars. The Crusade fleet stationed at Pegasus shipyards, in the Devore system had detected unknown vessels on an intercept course, despite warnings to leave CE space the unknown ships continued in... The shipyard no longer exists and what’s left of the fleet is drifting away, reduced to atoms. A new class of ship was designed to combat this new threat, the first to be built was the ICA Halcyon and it has been sent to patrol the homeworld system. However the threat increased as reports of missing ships and lost colonies began, until the unknown enemy revealed they were the Dijjal Ntar, and they were here to have vengeance.
