Which exactly defines the difference between the people making the rules and the one playing according to those rules. There are alot of people who actually "give" about these roleplayers, thinking otherwise can simply be described as ignorant. How are you planning on backing up that statement other than asking others to reply in this thread?

Yes, deathmatch is a large componant, perhaps the largest, but it does not define Las Venturas Playground. LVP is a world in which you can do whatever you want to do, regardless whether that is deathmatching, roleplaying, playing miniguns or hunting for the best paying property. Instead of blatantly saying noone cares about the people playing on the server for another purpose than deathmatching you could actually look around, and see that usually the quietest people ingame are the one doing RP. Does them not speaking immediately mean they can be ignored? No, it certainly does not.

I realize that it can be annoying when people teleport away from a fight, but what stops them? As Scrappy (who I believe shouldn't even be here) explained there are quite a number of commands that can be used to be escape from a fight. There can be timers, all kinds of checks, but the result stays the same, people will eventually find new ways to escape. A large portion of the players on LVP (who intend to deathmatch) are cowards, enough to keep finding new ways of escaping a battle. On the other hand, there are the non-deathmatch people. People trying to buy properties, just driving around the city in a vehicle or a motorbike or just mind their own business. These people are getting irritated by others shooting them whenever they come in sight, and for what purpose? Right, to increase your ratio.

It's simple, rules will make little difference in this case. Just leave players alone who have no interest in DM and if someone runs from a fight with you, simply do not fight him again. An idea might be to make a non-teleport area, but then we'll get people moaning at that. Try to look at this issue from different sides rather than just your own, it isn't that simple.

Katie has spoken!

She took the words right out of my mouth. Us admins have a lot of stuff to deal with that involves typing/helping/tping. If I had a candy bar for everytime I've been typing to help others and died because some "fighter" wants to be a pussy and shoot someone who isen't doing anything and is just standing there and kill them, I'd be one fat kid.

You guys need to relize that there's kids on here, from age ranges of 11-14, doesn't matter how good they fight, their kids, you don't need to piss them off or flame them. I heard a story about a kid who was so fed up with CYBER bullying, that he killed himself.. honestly how would you feel if you where the cause of his/her death? I wouldn't be able to live with myself. and its not just cyber bullying that goes on, its everywhere, theres kids at my school that come to me saying they wish they were dead because of the taunting and teasing, and down right bs. This is a good point, but you need to relize that these kids playing they don't want to cause any tension between anyone. They come on to make money and play and meet new people, and have fun. They may try and escape the fights because they really don't want to fight, maybe their not skilled, so instead of FLAMING THEM, maybe you could say, "hey, need some help?" instead of "Oh your a noob, die you piece of sht." just think about it, it might end up helping. I know i taxi or tp or pause to get out of a fight, but who doesn't you have to admit, everyone does it. Even some of the best players.

Why is this such a big problem? If you're a fighter, and you see another fighter on the streets, you attack them. If they want to fight, they fight and either kill you or die honorably. If they don't want to fight, they can just run away on foot, by car, by helicopter, or by plane. If you're a fighter, and you see a peaceful player on the streets, you attack them. Now, the peaceful person doesn't want to fight, so what should he or she do? In my opinion, he or she should either run away by the same methods a fighter would or just type /taxi or whatever other teleportation command and make his or her escape in just a few seconds.

This not a one-sided idea; it is meant to be beneficial for both sides. Its goal is to stop people who are already engaged in a fight from running away using unfair tactics. If someone doesn't want to fight and they are being hunted down, which most commonly happens with $1,000,000-or-more-carrying/$1,000,000-bounty-having individuals, then they could, if they really don't even want to engage in any form of fighting or chasing, just use commands such as /pause or /nitro and they will be out of harm's way in just a few seconds. This is same as how it is now, minus the small waiting period.

And I also added how if someone who wants to teleport to you to kill you, say you're a peaceful person and you don't want anyone you don't know teleporting to you, then you could just reject his teleportation request. There, problem solved. Now, if the person wants to use /locate to find you, well, that's their business. If that person does in fact catch up with you, just /taxi or /pause, wait a bit, then you will be taken away.

Once again, it's not meant to make the peaceful who might be cruising around or buying properties more easier to kill, but to prevent those who are already in a fight from running away. If you don't want to fight, fine, type /taxi or /world or whatever you'd like and you will be gone in just a little while. But if you're like so many other people who just want to kill someone, this movement is dedicated to make sure that your target will not be able to escape when he or she is close to death.

I believe fighters in this server are the majority, since 99% of people who I run into want to kill me with guns, grenades, cars, and so on. I rarely come into contact with any peaceful people, most likely because they are just cruising around not doing anything to anyone or they are just in the other cities. By letting people escape who are already in a fight with these instant commands, you are disappointing a large amount of people who frequent your server, not a huge deal, but still irritating nevertheless. This is just to make the game more enjoyable for fighters, NOT to make it worse for those who are unwilling to fight. The only people who it's making it worse for are the fighters who hate to see themselves die and end up teleporting away.

OFF-SUBJECT: And if ratio is such a big deal to so many people, why not just do away with it? It's just a few numbers that really make no difference in the game.

Edit: After reviewing the introduction that I had written, I can see why those who opposed my ideas thought that I was referring to everyone who ran away in the game. Well, hopefully I have made myself clear now. It is not those who run away from a fight who must die, just those who do it when they are close to death and had either instigated the fight or accepted to take part in it.
