Fair Fight Movement - Scrappy - 03-01-2008

Are you tired of runners? Tired of players using /pause, /taxi, /world, /tp, /ctp, /tune, and all the other commands that these runners use for evasion? If you are, then join me as I begin the Fair Fight Movement. Simply make a post saying, "Signed by (your name)," and leave a comment if you feel it is necessary. If you do not agree with this movement and you enjoy running, please tell us what compels you to act the way you do. Those who agree and do sign their name, they will be acknowledged in the petition below.

Fair Fight Petition:

• Now, onto how all of this will be accomplished. The answer is simple. A timer should be added to every single teleportation command, such as the very popular /taxi command, and it should last for, in my opinion, 10 seconds. In that time, if anyone tries to escape death by typing /taxi for example, he or she will have 10 seconds before he is teleported away. So, in the fight, the person will have 10 seconds to kill the runner, which should be enough time. And if the command was to be used by someone who is not fighting, he or she would just have to wait 10 short seconds. This is the most practical idea that I have come up with, and if anyone else has any better ideas, please post.

• First Revision: In order to completely eliminate the runners in this game, the armor and health pickups should be done away with, so nobody runs for armor or health in a fight. If you want health, go to a fast-food joint. If you want armor, go to Ammu-Nation. BUT! Pickups in or around peace zones (such as the Pirate Ship and Fight Club) should remain, since they are only meant to help the people who are already or going there.

• Second Revision: Some people are complaining about others not wanting to deathmatch when they have someone teleporting to him or her. Well, that can be solved as well. If someone wants to teleport, the person who is having someone teleport to him or her should receive a message like "(His or her name) wants to teleport to you. Do you accept?" or something similar. Then the person who receives this message would have to type either /accept or /reject. If they type /accept, then the person teleporting would have to pay the fine and teleport to his or her target. If people want to hunt down others, they will simply have to use the /locate command. Now, if you're the type of person who doesn't like to be killed for whatever reason and doesn't want people chasing you, TOO BAD. You can either run away if someone comes for you or just stay away from those players, since the majority of people in LVP want to kill you.

• Third Revision: Another method to make fighting more fair is to remove the current location of the health and armor pickups in Fight Club and move them to a higher, harder-to-get area, making it impossible for anyone who is fighting in the arena to pickup health and armor to make a hasty escape.

• Fourth Revision: These are the commands that should be modified to prevent escape: /pause (/continue should be instant), /taxi, /world, /tp or /teleport, /ctp or /carteleport, /tune (/back should be instant, because people who use it are most likely using it for car modification, whereas /tune can be used as a cheap way of escaping death in a car), /dive, /cardive, /nitro, /minigames, and /stunt. If you know of any abusable commands that are not on this list, please make a post saying so.

• Fifth Revision: The 10 second rule, considering its length, should be modified to 5 seconds. The time it takes for someone to stop what they're doing and type out their command could make the waiting period anywhere from 6-10 seconds, depending on the person, with this new rule.

• Sixth Revision: Since the commands /tp and /ctp require time to be accepted, if not rejected, it would be best to just exclude the timers for them, so as not to make their waiting periods that much longer than the rest of the commands.

As for the administration of LVP, hopefully you will undertake any measures to satisfy what the common people want, the players that actually make your server popular, instead of just ignoring them and doing only what you feel is right.

Now, let's get this thing started...

Re: Fair Fight Movement - Fry - 03-01-2008

This is more of a suggestion than a rant than a petition.
So it shouldn't exist. But even if it did, it would have to go in the "Las Venturas Playground" section. :)

Re: Fair Fight Movement - KRiiSSY - 03-01-2008

Pfft, I wouldn't sign over my dead body.
People buying props and who aren't bothering you
deserve to be left alone, so by you shooting at them
is only going to provoke them to / whatever.

That, I believe, is exactly what I was going to say.
Except the dead body part.

yeah except you often shoot people and when they get the lead in the fight you taxi away.
