I use normal Windows Sidebar from Vista. It's one of the standard programs.
I just take it away from the actual sidebar and put it on my desktop.

We had some trouble with our disk to we took it to our local Cash Generator store they have a machine for cleaning disks it sorted us out so we could pass the game ^^ i think a lot of business who deal with PC's, Games, DVD's and so on use these only cost a few $3
