Harddrives
#1
Alright, here's the story.
I got a laptop as a sort of birthday present this summer, it's Toshiba Satellite A100-049.

Until a month ago I haven't had any problems with memory and so on, but the harddrive which is pretty small considering it's a laptop, is becoming full and now I'm kind of looking for external harddrives and options to that.

E:\ 54.6GB(36GB free) <<-- however being taken up very soon.

Instead of buying a whole new external harddrive of maybe 500GB, I figured I'd use the harddrive of my family's first computer, which still works but is not used.

As far as I know, it should have about 80GB on it and that'll last for a while. So I went to buy a monitor cable so I could connect them.

It didn't work and I spoke to someone I know who's good with computers and he said I needed an "External harddrive enclosure". I didn't have a clue what that was but searched google and found some examples (it showed out I recognized the looks once I'd seen a pic of one), however I have no idea what one to choose and now I'm stuck picking out one.
That's probably why I started this topic, I need you people who have external harddrives and enclosures to help me pick one.

Here's one that got some nice comments and is in my opinion really nice-looking for about £22. There should be a lot of cheaper and more simple ones available though.

Feedback to this is very welcome, especially if you have any advice to give me.
Thanks in advance,
Felle.

Omg Look! It has a floppy drive!!  :o

What I do when considering buying something technological is spend hours on the net reading reviews and help guides. I suggest you start off by calling your local Tech shop and tell then what you need. When they show you the disk, get the model number and go do lots of research on it. If you like it, buy it off Ebay for 50% retail.
