Razer Software Maintenance and Downtime

Since this is a gaming community I can expect that some users here are using Razer devices and/or softwares so I'll post about the issue & a temporarily fix.

Whats the issue?
By now many Razer users have probably faced any issue with the Razer Synapse software or the Cortex.

I've been experiencing an issue these last couple of days with the 'Razer Surround' service inside of Razer Synapse. The issue is basically in the list of Audio Interfaces, every option is blocked out and you cant choose any audio outcome. It says that every option/device in the list is unsupported.

How to solve it?
The problem itself is the most recent Microsoft Security Update. If you do experience this issue or any else you can fix it simply by uninstalling the patch.

TEMPORARY FIX: You have to uninstall Microsoft security update or wait for Razer update to fix it. Just go to "Control Panel>Programs>Programs and Features>Installed Updates" and find this update according to your version and uninstall it: Security Update for Windows (KB4056892).

    For older versions of Windows 10, here are the patch numbers:
  • Windows 10 version 1703 (Creators Update): KB4056891
  • Windows 10 version 1607 (Anniversary Update): KB4056890
  • Windows 10 version 1511 (November Update): KB4056888
  • Windows 10 version 1507 (Initial Release): KB4056893

If you're unpatient like me and cant stand the shi**y quality of audios, fix the issue yourself for now. Enjoy!
