Apparently it's a bad idea to hold hands in public too, but I've heard mixed opinions on this.
Kissing can definitely get you into trouble. Pre-marital sex, big trouble, alcohol consumption in public, big trouble, homosexual intercourse, huuuuge trouble.
I guess the US have a couple of these laws, and Australia have at least one- but the punishments aren't nearly as severe.

I meant the drinking in public law, which is around most (if not all) of the countries I've visited.
America have some state laws against sodomy which is fucking ridiculous.
Australia's not that bad at all (-it's just so damn far from everything), but the Germany/Holland/Belgium area and Scandinavia are the places to be.

Australia seems like a great place to live though. One of my mates who often travels told me it was one of his favourite destinations. But yeah, public drinking laws are everywhere.
