There's no conceivable way the term 'fag' is unrelated to homosexual, otherwise we wouldn't even be having this conversation.
If I said that the term 'nigger' is unrelated to a fucking porcupine, none of you would bat an eye, but the word fag is undoubtedly linked to homosexuality.
Having said that, most of the time I use fag as a derogatory term, it's not aimed at someone that is obviously homosexual- rather someone that's being a dick.
