After living in Liverty City for 5 years, Melvin "Big Smoke" Harris, returns to Los Santos due his mother die in a car accident. While funeral he find his family and friend in disarray.
Sean "Sweet" Johnson, "Big Smokes" brother, accuses him of their mother death. In an effort to win back his brother's favor, Smoke then does jobs for Sweet, and fellow gang members Ryder and OG Loc. He also becomes protective of his sister Kendl after Sweet discovers that she is dating a member of another gang, who later was found out to be Carl Johnson. Carl got invited by "Big Smoke", and he accepted.
Thanks largely to Sweet and Smoke the Grove Street Families return to prominence, and still continues to grow.
