No it's not. We're talking about the way you blurred the picture around the edges, leaving a circle of focus in the middle. That's depth of field, not motion blur.

Thats depth of field

Cant say I see that in the video when everything aroun the screen is blurred out, not just whats "close" to us.
In his video we see blur on stuff that is far away PLUS stuff that is up close, so I dont think that can be called depth of field

Unless, i dont know what im talking about here x) I jjust googled depth of field

It works totally different, the "depth of field". It's pretty simple.

Take 3 planes from your point of view one on 1 foot away from you one on 2 foot and one on 3 feet away. Let's say the planes are with an angle of 90 degrees on our view.

Let's say the focus is on the second plane, so the first plane and the third plane are out of focus. But this also depends on what lens used and what kind of focal distance and ofcourse which aperture you use andhow far the objects are away from eachother. Also the focus will not be fully straight over that whole plane, this is because of the curvature of the lens. That said we come to DOF. DOF is a public made statement. It mean something different than where people use it for. But DOF is just the way the blurriness looks in a picture where a lot depth of field occures.(yes I know that DOF = depth of field)
But people use it like this "What a nice DOF in your picture/movie". Just how the bokeh of a picture looks like.

Actually, to be fair, one of the radial blur presets in Sony Vegas (probably in AE too) is just blurred edges, which gives the DoF effect.
