Also, the texture for cobblestone appears to be slightly different, and it looks like we'll be able to place torches on fences.

Mojang hasn't mentioned anything about a release date yet. I don't recall their exact words.

there's a lot of speculation going on though.



Notch posted that screenshot a while ago. Some guy figured out what the words in the tabs at the top say. I don't remember exactly what exactly. but one is something like "GiantMushroom" and another is something like "ExperienceOrb"

I'd look it up, but it seems that the MC forums are currently down for maintenance.
