AMD Phenom II x4 820 VS 955
#1
I've been hearing people telling my to get the 955 black edition for ages now, I'm really not interested in overclocking my CPU.

But at this moment in time I have the 820 model 4mb L3 and offers 2.8ghz the 820 unlike the 840 has an L3 Cache

But the 955 has 6mb L3 cache, and offers 3.2ghz

would this small upgrade really be worth the while?

According to several tests on the web its about ~15% faster in general.

To be honest, in most games the videocard will be your limiting factor when it comes to fps and stuff, so dont spend money on a Phenom 955. Unless you could sell your current one and pay only like 15-20€ extra for the 955.

Actually, I'm selling my video card and possibly planning on buying a new CPU, my friend can possibly lend me an HD 5450 (yeah I know, it's not great.) until I can can get my current CPU sold off and order a new card.
