Are you a programmer? Please read this.
Introduction
This "school" or "course" is completely free of charge, a decent behavior is the only thing we ask for.
We do not certify you in any programming language, in fact we will work in different languages to learn programming.
So what is programming?
Well it's already explained nicely on a few pages if you search for it, I'll quote one of google's definitions below:
Of course the languages we humans program in is not directly understood by the computer, it's translated in a number of ways.
But as a programmer you do not really have to deal with that unless you're making your own operative system or programming language from scratch.
Most programmers out there program with a language that operative systems (or servers with packages such as PHP installed) supports.
In the end it's translated so that the computer understands and knows what to do with it's components.
Shortly it's something like: Human code -> Compilation -> OS (run) -> Translation -> Action.
Now I'm sure that isn't correct and there are surely a lot of things missing (as I said, short), but it can't be that far off.
How will we teach you?
The actual truth is, we can't. No one can teach programming, you can teach programming languages but not programming.
So what's the point of this? Well, we will get you started, interested and help you along the way.
To learn programming, what it is about, general syntax etc.. You'll have to practice, you have to do.
Do? Yeah, create things by yourself, learning programming is nothing that goes in a second.
Where?
You are requested to download mIRC, install, connect to irc.gtanet.com and join #iouSoft.
We will have some fun around mIRC Scripting as well, so be sure to download it.
When?
Almost every friday.
However, questions regarding programming is welcome any day as long as it's asked in the channel so others also may see, thus do not PM me.
