XiZ, there's no solid proof Jesus was born on the 25th (nor which day was he born). It's a general agreed-approximate date which is different. If you meant facepalm at the countries you listed, take us outta that list, because here it's christmas EVE as well, gifts are exchanged today but not opened until midnight, which is the 25th already. The legal holiday (in the calendar) is the 25th as well.
