Alright, so Christmas is close! Time to get your jackets on and begin working on the new LVP Christmas map of 2010!

Alright so this is how I planned this out... (Comment below if you approve of this or would want any changes.)

My idea is the strip is divided into sections for each mapper to take care of, but still keep it light weight and lag free. Seeing LVPs object streamer in action, it's very fast and good quality at a short load. So I have estimated about a recommendation of 25 objects, 50 object max in your section of the map. This must also consist of course of the colors [glow=grey,2,300]Red, Green, and Yellow[/glow] lights, to keep the theme of course.

This will allow a limited creativity around the whole strip, allowing a lightweight well organized map for LVP's Xmas of 2010. To see the way I have it decided (pending approval) please check out the image below.

For each section will be assigned a different mapper, if there is too much for each mapper to do then a different mapper can always decide to do 2 sections. [glow=lightgrey,2,300]As for me personally I want to do the Red and Dark red.[/glow]

Please discuss below if you would like any changes in these plans or if you would like to take apon a section, please remember we have until November 20th to get this done (not official, just seems like a good date for this to be finished, giving a week for any other updates beside the map to be worked on.) So do not rush it, take your time to make it look clean, lightweight and perfect for the server.

As for the xmas tree's, those are approval of management and development to approve who does which, but I did jump ahead and mark some locations where I think a tree should be, marked with light-blue circles. The reason I'm waiting for approval on the trees is because for example, Jay claims he is going to make on at the LV gang-base, and there is much argument over who would like to do the ships tree. Jay suggested in this topic that there will be multiple trees this year, but take in mind the object limit.

The trees of course will consist of 1 pine-like style tree, Green red and yellow lights, and any light decorations you can add to it if you would like. But take in mind that the other trees would preferred to be small pine trees, and that the ship should have the biggest and most lighted tree in LV, only because this is simply common sense and a server tradition. (Also note that the trees don't have to be exactly where I placed them, those were only shown for example)

Note: If all sections used there maxed amount of lights it would be roughly 450 objects which may cause a lower FPS in some sections (Not counting the trees) and using the recommended amount will only use roughly 280 objects which should not be an issue at all, So keep that in mind.

Don't worry about object limits!

"lag" from objects is a client side issue because of the high amount of vehicles - There are way to many textures. (Your fault! :))

We can decrease the physical draw distance of objects so that the "lag" is reduced. But apart from that most people shouldn't suffer any FPS drops unless they have a really old PC.


P.S How about we add the City Planning Department and Caligulas Palace as a place to add trees

Oh, also what would be a good option for lights, apparently colored "Racing Markers" can not be converted to Pawn?
