My uncle works as a graphics designer or something, and apparently some of the Macs he uses have over 100GBs of RAM, just to use some specific features in PhotoShop or something, but for normal use, you'd never need more than a few GBs, lol.

4-6GB of ram is enough for any media or gaming style pc, compressing videos (media) is mainly dependent on the processor. People say Intel is more efficient with video/image compression and AMD is better for gaming. Really I don't notice the difference, when it comes to AMD, the price is right.

As for your uncle, please tell me what FPS he gets on counter strike.

Why would it matter? CS is a 32bit application anyways and therefore cant use more then 2gb of ram.

Besides that, CS doesnt run on a Mac (unless you dont use Wine or somethin like that)

lol do you have a 512MB ram with pentium 4, 3.00GHz and 128MB video card memory?
cuz thats what I have and i get max 15 fps on counterstrike, and thats why I don't play it, and for L4D, I get 15fps max and average 5 on lowest Quality (LMAO) thats why I don't play that too. I just stick with SAMP and an old 2001 game called DeusEx (bet no one knows it)

This is a computer we use at our office to run Finite Elements Method calculations.

For example we put a whol buildings in a model. We put whole earth surfaces in it with houses on it. And we put high pressure vessels in it. And it's possible to put in a whole containership.

Wich can run upto 10 million nodes to a billion.

That is one of the few applications that will work perfect on such a machine and will use all it's power.

And it's not a stand alone machine. Because a normal consumer OS can't run on it. It's a server for our department. I use it and someone else.

So it's more like a server. The 4 videocard setting is just rubbish.
