Speed Bonuses
#1
This issue really has to be resolved.  Theres certain features of LVP which require Speed Bonuses, i.e. the bombshop.

However they are now extreamly difficult to get.  Only way to get them legitly to my knowledge is to jump off chilliad in a fast car and land near the road.  Which is difficult and time consuming enough and on top of that there is no way for players to discover or acknowlege this method.

Yes, before they where easy to get, to the point the popups where annoying... but its now gotten to the stage where new players are at a severe disadvantage and therefore are unable to use the bombshop, which leads to assholes lilke myself having an monopoly on bombs.  Surley there can be an inbetween situation from the old methods and the new

So please, the people concerned spend a few minutes and come up with a revised system to help bridge the gap.

An example, from a mere below average player and carbomb fan, is to change the criteria to use the bomb shop to 'regular' players and above.  Or players who have over a certain number of hours logged. Or even having to buy a bomb lisence for 500 million for example which would require a player of a fairly high up status to get/afford.

In short the system needs to be revised as its hardly fair to new players who wonder why they can't get the bonuses to use the bombshop while other(older) players bomb the shit out of them., badly, and its been 8 months since the old speed bonus system was changed so its long overdue a few minutes of certain peoples time to come up with a new system.

I don't think I'm alone with this point of view.

I agree with bombshop for regulars and the speed bonuses should be made easier to get indeed. We need to await management approval though :+.

I strongly disagree. A lot of things are unlocked when a player becomes a regular as it is! Players should have to work a bit before having to unlock these things, that's what makes it fun!

Speed bonuses were designed for high speed map zones. As it stands, the object handler can handle map zones just fine, but has limitations. It doesn't support moving objects (which probably isn't a problem for anything other than a bunnytrack map) and it can only hold 130 objects per world. I'm going to be porting the 2.91 object handler into the main server which you'll see live this Wednesday. From there we'll probably announce information about the mapping team, which we've been hiding away for a few weeks now. Hopefully then we'll see a lot more map zones added with some high speed roads and jumps making it a touch easier to get a speed bonus :)
