Ping Problem
#11
I have a similar problem but my ping doesn't really jump. Its just randomly high some days. I think its just because my ISP has bad routing to some places. Being in America, our data travels a large distance to LVP's server in NL

I share internet with two person one of them downloads and uploads things the other person plays Combat Arms(a pretty dumb game) so this makes my ping to jumps high

Downloading and uploading causes major ping spikes. However, it's the uploading that causes the most interruptions.

If he is downloading by torrents, tell him to set the max upload speed to 5kb/s in the torrent software hes using. Combat Arms is a game, it both downloads and uploads, just like every online game. But it takes very low bandwidth, so it shouldn't matter if hes playing or not.

Simplified solution.
Smack em' in the face and unplug their internet cables.

Euuhmm dude... That will fuck up the whole idea of torrents, that is *sharing* stuff. That won't work when everybody sets a dumb upload limit of 5KB/s in it's client.

GothicDolls: just get a decent unshared connection for yourself.

yea, but its not like hes in a social network so they all be flamin on him for not seeding.
id rather download what i want and then delete the torrent than to seed and making the chances of me getting caught higher.

Well, my uncle is not using torrents, he downloads a bunch of programs I wonder what programs does he downloads. He has a better computer than me he's hard drive is about 650 GB and a 8 GB of RAM and a Nvidia graphic card, that's a really good computer

It's so simple to just say "Get a better connection". But the truth is, that could be quite difficult for some people. Anyway, as for your problem, GothicDolls, that is the only way to resolve your problem. Either that, or only play when your uncle is not using the internet.

odd. but I think it's your connection like Ryder said. That's the only way. Or You might have a Virus.
