Vehicle layout

Huge bump. Anyway, what do you think about the idea of having the random vehicles outside LV and have a static layout (possibly the old one) inside LVP, which had the karts, sultans, limos, nrgs, boats near the pirate ship.
That's the best combination imo.

I'd say don't put too much around the ship. Most fighting takes place around it so a lot of cars wouldn't do that good. Good for anti-shiplame though :+

But as for random outside and static inside > yes. Most people are in LV so it'd be good if they knew where to find certain vehicles. Might get exporting more popular too.

Well... static isn't that bad in some cases.
Like, I have the same car for a few years now, not every day some other vehicle :+
So, I can imagine that we make parking lots more dynamic, but vehicles @ houses or w/e static.

Allright. And for the outside of LV, we'll keep using Sander's layout, because that works fine. Just have static cars in LV, except for the parking lots, where they will be dynamic.

Well.. fine :+ A lot of double spots for some unknown reason.
Mainly at places where I planned a specific vehicle, like a bus, airplane, etc.

So how/when are we going to organize this?

The problem is the organisation isn't very good. The layout is plonked into one file with random vehicles located in random parts of the file. It's not going to be easy removing all the vehicles from Las Venturas to replace them with the 2.5 layout, which again has the same problem. I suggest we start from scratch. Offcourse I don't intend any disrespect towards Sander or any of the other people involved in the 2.90 layout.

We should seperate it into files in accordance with the area, similar to how the SA:MP team done their layout for the Grand Larceny Gamemode. Or, better yet, instead of handling the layout from the gamemode, store vehicles in an SQLite database or scriptfiles, allowing admins to save vehicles ingame. We could show an ingame dialog to determine different settings on the vehicle to match the suggestions here (random spawn, for example).

I'm pretty sure I can remember some of the old 2.5 layout, I'm sure other crewmembers who were familar with it (such as Maka) will be able to help out too. We'll get a pretty similar layout without the need to faff about going through the current file, correcting bugged vehicles and re-organising it all.

So considering this was supposed to be done over 2 months ago are there any disagreements with the above post?
