Soldiers get life-long benefits in the United States. This includes excellent health care, retirement pay when they leave, veteran status (which provides discounts at many, many stores) and the ability to buy things at extremely low prices at the stores on military bases.
Edit:
Also, soldiers are paid lower because of the fact they get fed, clothed and given a bed to sleep in while they are on active duty, all for free.

$5000 a month with 15 million soldiers = $750,000,000.00, would you wanna pay this amount?
Last time i've checked the U.S. Army had ~625.000 active soldiers. Dunno about the reserve-soldiers tho, but i guess they're already included in that 625k ? Not sure tho.

Fair enough, I don't know about the British soldiers but it's probably similar.
But soldiers also work for poor people, and besides the benefits, they don't get rich (that applies to Mike's special exception rule)

Okay yeah but when they go to war, the place they're fighting at is usually poor, to give them a better life. So even though they're working for the government, they work for the poor.

Hmm, I see. Let me clear up what seems to be a misconception here.
When I say "working for" I mean "employed by" or, the entity or person who pays the individual their paycheck or income.

In that case, yes they work for the rich and in turn get poor pay (again, ignoring the benefits).

Because Mike gives good arguements, he doesn't just throw blind insults or false evidence and has the ability to agree with people when they manage to prove a point of his wrong.

Munch, the statements you make is like the statement my grandmother used to make
why do rappers get "paid" and are "famous" for being useless (that is new rappers) unlike doctors who dont get awarded or recognized for saving lives.
