1.73 Ghz running at 789 Mhz?
#1
Hi guysandgirls,

although i bought a new computer recently i still like to use my old laptop. Yes, it's 3,5 years old Asus A6VC with an 1.73 Ghz single centrino processor in it. It runs good for documents and stuff but when i'm at my moms in the weekend i like to play some samp on this laptop. I noticed that the performance goes down gradually troughout the years and after an epic crash 3 weeks ago i decided to buy a new hdd, reïnstall windows XP, the whole razmatazz. Everything went quick again but i was still having bad graphics on samp, slow reaction time etc, which makes it hard to fight. Maybe it's because my other computer goes fast that i notice the difference, but i also noted that my processor behaves in benchmarks like a 800Mhz processor. Is it normal for it to breakdown that fast troughout the years, or could it have taken damage from heat?

Your CPU is prolly lowering its clocks to save energy.

Check again while you have GTA SA running, it should switch back to its 1,73GHz once an hardware intensive application launches.

Yep, that's how laptops save a lot of energy :)
