Local Yocal Sports Edition (AKA Lyse)
#1
After a few fixes Lyse is looking stable and is now in it's beta phase. We need to excessively test it and look for bugs.

Lyse is a minigame which is similar to rivershell (as you'll see when testing). Two teams, two trucks. Players have to capture the other teams truck and bring it back to their own teams base in good condition. Players get several weapons:

- TEC9 (Single)
- M4
- 1 Satchel Charge
- Sniper Rifle
- Shotgun (not yet added but it will be)

We need to excessively test it. Some features:
  • Use of textdraws to show the team score
  • Team messages
  • Vehicle markers
  • 3D text above objective vehicles and players

And most of the other stuff from rivershell.

Please use this topic to provide feedback.
Thanks

Ok, did a bit of play testing with it and have a few suggestions

1)
/dive needs to be removed from it, keep it on the ground and realistic

2)
Bikes Bikes Bikes.

They simply don't work in this minigame.  Seen this for myself playing and if you think about it I'm taking sence.

The truck isn't fast, which is fine.  If you're on a bike with a tec9 all you have to do is drive slowly behind the truck, shoot and its blown up, far far too easy and the truck doesn't stand a chance.

Yet if you only had cars, the car has to drive along side the truck to driveby shoot from it, so the truck can defend itself by 1) ramming the car away and 2) shooting back

3)
Timer

I noticed theres a time limit for the game, as in if none captures the trucks the specified number of times to win after a while the game ends.  A countdown timer on the screen would be nice, failing that a few notifications in the chat box along the lines of "5 minutes remaining!"  "4 minutes remaining!" etc

4)
Satchel Charges

Again I don't think these work in the game. True there is an issue with the drawdistance in which they work, i.e the targert has to be close in order for them to be synced and them to be blown up.

So, when the game starts you can't stick a satchel charge to the truck and wait for it to be jacked to blow it up.

However, if you look at your map, and when you see an ememy somewhat close you can then place one on the truck, so when its taken you can blow it up and kill the person inside.

Even tho you only have one satchel charge on spawn, which would work in big games where theres alot going on, in smaller games with lets say 6 or 8 people playing it would be far too easy to make sure the truck never gets further away than 20 feet from its spawn point with simply one person staying to defend the truck by planting a charge on it when the enemy is within the same town.

5)
Truck spawnpoints

I mentioned this to Jay ealier, and looked into it more.  The Green truck needs better spawn points.

When you take the blue truck, you can get in and drive away straight away. Not only that but you usually have a choice of 2 directions to go when you take the blue truck.  All good.

The green truck however, alot of the times when it spawns you only have one choice of route at the start, and not only that, most times you have to reverse so you're able to turn on the road, which means you can't just get into it and drive away, you have to get in, and be a sitting duck for 5 seconds while you can manuver it in a way you can escape.

Hardly fair :)

Also, the skins need to be reveresed.  Blue team as a greeny skin and vice versa
