I once got stuck in an elevator when I was seven. My mother, her boyfriend, my brother, and I were stuck for about an hour and a half or so. The "Call" button was broken, but that annoying "Alarm" one wasn't, so we kept on pushing it until some guy came and called for help. After the fire department came and opened up the doors, we had to literally climb out: the elevator had stopped between two floors. So yeah, I don't really find this to be funny at all, either.

They usually don't work in elevators, but there are some that do. Even if he didn't, so what? Not everyone has a cell phone.

Being stuck in a bomb shelter can't compete with being stuck in a lift (elevator) between 2 floors with the phone not working or anything (I don't think we have phones in ours in England...or...I've not seen one so far)
