Selling laptop, buying desktop + notebook - Limited Budget

I had a look and seemed your laptop is not that valuable now. Good luck selling it :)

Its a work in progress still, but this is what i got so far based on the $700 budget:

CPU:
Intel C2D E5200 @ 2.5Ghz
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=376380
650 SEK

Motherboard:
Gigabyte P43-DS3
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=354536
850 SEK

Video Card:
XFX HD 4650 512mb
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=423598
569 SEK

PSU:
Corsair 450W
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=338686
785 SEK

Hard Drive:
Western Digital Caviar Green 500GB
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=485057
525 SEK

RAM:
Corsair Twin2X 4GB DDR2 800
http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=346193
750 SEK

A CD/DVD writer costs 250-300. An okay case will probably be around 650-850.

Your probably going to wanna go with a better video card, but you will either have to cheap out on something else or add more money to the budget.

A good netbook would be: http://www.komplett.se/k/ki.aspx?sku=477760

That looks nice, thanks. Assuming I can sell my laptop, I should have another 2000 or so SEK to spend. As for the notebook, I guess it can wait (I'm probably better off improving the desktop computer). Either way, I think the Asus Eee-series appear to be a good choice :)

Unless FarePak happens to know of some cheaper store, I guess I'll buy from komplett.. they're not cheap, but not particularly expensive either (you might think it is when you compare it to USD, but other stores aren't really any different).

I might be able to add another $100 to the budget - my google adsense account currently has around $60-65 in it, but you need $100 to withdraw.. maybe I can force people into clicking my ads more frequently  :P

I definatly know some stores, but i'm just waiting on mjaa to get online to tell me them.

Are you planning to get this soon?
I remember that there was a 50-150 SEK difference for a motherboard that mjaa showed me from the store he buys from and komplett.

Edit: Oh right, I just remembered out of my top of the head.
The site is www.inet.se, he only the other day bought a full AMD system from there and getting ready for DX11 apparently.

For example: ( Just to show price difference )
Intel C2D E5200 ( komplett.se ) = 650 SEK
Intel C2D E5200 ( inet.se ) = 614 SEK

Corsair 450w ( komplett.se ) = 785 SEK
Corsair 450w ( inet.se ) = 691 SEK

XFX Radeon HD 4850 512MB "xXx" GDDR3 ( komplett.se ) = 1.325 SEK
XFX Radeon HD 4850 512MB "xXx" GDDR3 ( inet.se ) = 1.190 SEK

Although inet doesn't seem to sell the Twin2X version of the the Corsair RAM, I changed GFX card to HD 4850 as it seems that the HD 4650 is cheaper on komplett.se, but I would rather get the HD 4850 anyway.

I chose the xXx version because it seems theres only a 10-50 SEK difference between them on inet.se anyway.

Does an X on that site represent that its sold out? cuz like everything has an X :P

They don't have as good of a variety as Komplett has for video cards and motherboards so i would suggest to buy those at Komplett

Yeah, I think the 'X' means that it's sold out, but yeah i'd rather get a HD 4850/70 I guess... instead of the HD 4670.

Seems to be a big difference from HD 4850/70 on inet.se and komplett.se in price.

Thanks FarePak! It seems cheap, I've heard of it sometime I think.. and as far as I can see, the shipping costs are relatively low - seems they can't go beyond 99 SEK. I don't know how soon I'm going to order - it's not like it's urgent or anything - just when I've decided and have the money I need to buy it.

And an X means that they don't have it in stock, but when you order one, they'll order one for you... so it's not exactly sold out  :P

Does your budget include a monitor, mouse, and keyboard?

If it doesn't, then this is what i got for a total of 7 377 kr:

Thanks again, that looks cool as well :)

I forgot to mention that the monitor is included in the budget (mouse and keyboard isn't though). The monitor size would need to be at least 20", so I guess that's around 1500 SEK (for one that's not top of the line). I also forgot to mention that I have an external harddrive (a 500GB WD MyBook), so I could either go with lesser harddrive space in the desktop computer, or I could sell the external one..

I'll do everything I can to add more money to the budget too :P

If you can add more money then just keep the above build and use the added money for a monitor.

22" is the most common size right now, you just have to decide if you want a 16:10 one or a 16:9 one.
